You can also visit us at 140 Canal Street, Lewiston, Maine
What are hours of operation?
We are open Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm.
What will happen when I call or I visit?
The person answering the phone or greeting you will probably ask you a few questions to learn more about your needs.
Generally, we will schedule an appointment for you to come in to our office at 140 Canal Street in Lewiston, Maine. The first appointment is likely to take 1 to 2 hours total. At the first appointment our Intake Staff and our Nurse Practitioner usually meet with you to gather background information and some details about how we may be able to help you. In most instances we are able to tell you if we can meet your needs at this first appointment.
If we are not able to assist you, we will still do our best to help you identify and to access resources that would be better at meeting your individual needs.
What if I need assistance right away?
If your needs are considered to be an emergency or urgent, a community integration specialist will assist you. If for some reason we are not able to serve you, we will make every effort to identify other agencies who can best help you with your needs.
We may also seek assistance from Crisis Services to support and to assist with getting the right level of care at that point in time.
How do we coordinate with other service agencies
Common Ties Mental Health has long standing relationships with numerous community resources throughout Androscoggin County and the region.
If another provider would better suit your needs, we will assist you by providing you with that information and assist you with contacting the agency.
All of our service coordination is conducted only with your permission.
Is the agency licensed?
The agency is licensed by the State of Maine to provide mental health services.
How will my services be paid for?
Services provided to qualifying recipients are supported and paid by fees paid to the agency by MaineCare, The Department of Health and Human Services, the Maine Office of Substance Abuse, the United Way of Androscoggin County, and other local, state and private sources.
Having your MaineCare Insurance number handy when you call is helpful so we can verify your insurance coverage for our services. In most instances, this can be done during your initial call. If you don’t know your number, we can verify based on your date of birth information.
Once I have an appointment or have had an initial meeting, what will happen next?
At the initial appointment we most often determine your eligibility for services and begin the assessment and service planning. You will usually know what services you qualify for, what programs we can offer to you, and what other referrals to community resources we may we able to help you with as well. A follow up appointment will be scheduled to complete the assessment and treatment planning process, which will guide you and your assigned Community Support Worker through your services. From that point forward you will work with your Community Support worker to determine future appointments and how you will work and communicate with each other in order to complete your goals.
What if I am looking for medication management services in addition to case management services or medication management services only?
We will schedule a medication management assesment for you with our medication provider following your initial assesment and the development of your Individual Service Plan.
